Sea fishing Description

Seaton is located on the eastern edge of Devon, on it south coast. Home to the mouth of the river Axe, there is good fishing for a range of species.

Mullet can be caught in the river. Generally people fish the seaward side of the last road bridge. The access is good and the fishing is easy from the quay side. Ground bait heavily and get fishing. Landing your catch can be a challenge and you need to keep an eye out for moving boats. This mark fishes well on the rising tide.

Flounder are caught the other side of the road bridge. Crab and rag are the preferred baits. Fish the tide up. This is not a renowned Flounder mark, but it does produce fish. School Bass are caught here as well, but please release any under size fish!!

Of the river mouth Bass can be caught with Plug and bait. Consider the conditions and fish the flow. This mark can be very productive for Bass. Pollock can be caught when the light levels start to fall.

The beach has produced some good fish over time. There are a few HOT spots along the beach. Use you knowledge looking for out crops of rock and possible gullies at low tide to find the areas.

Parking is good for most areas. Seaton is a small seaside town so Anglers food is easy to find. There is an angling shop. Toilets are dotted around the town.
